laterza.jpg

Laterza, quaint town in the province of Taranto, is famous for the white majolica, a real distinctive sign of Laterza’s ceramists and for its “gravina" (Laterza’s Ravine), the most extraordinary one among the ravines around the Golf of Taranto. The “canyon of Europe” stretches for 12 km and in some areas it is also 500 metres large.

Here you can experience the ancient origin of the city, admiring several rocky churches and the evidence left by man since the prehistory.
